Reuters: “Meatpacker JBS hit with US lawsuit over climate target”

Reuters has published a detailed article covering our client Mighty Earth’s lawsuit against JBS over its “Net Zero by 2040” claims, which we recently filed in Washington, DC. A copy of the full complaint is here.

The article notes that our lawsuit is “a fresh legal challenge for the world’s biggest meatpacker ahead of global climate talks in its home country in November.” Reporters Simon Jessop, Kirstin Ridley and Luciana Novaes Magalhaes place the latest case in the larger context of a wave of “greenwashing” cases, including a successful case against French oil giant Total and the New York Attorney General’s consumer-protection case against JBS (which was very recently settled).
