Whistleblower Complaint against JBS Featured in Investment Magazine

Investment Magazine this month published an in-depth article describing the multitude of legal challenges faced by Brazilian meat processor JBS stemming from its false and misleading claims regarding its greenhouse gas emissions and its central role in deforesting the Amazon and other sensitive tropical-forest regions in Brazil.

The article notes, for example, a recent lawsuit brought by the New York Attorney General alleging that JBS’s “net zero by 2040” claims were misleading to consumers. We wrote about that lawsuit here. It also discusses a letter sent by 15 U.S. Senators urging the SEC to closely scrutinize the company’s planned IPO. And it notes the SEC whistleblower complaint we filed on behalf of senior executives of international climate advocacy group Mighty Earth.

We will continue to publish updates here, as the multi-pronged legal challenges to JBS play out.
